But among all the great things it has been, it has also been the year of ransomware, in record breaking numbers. CryptoLocker, GoldenEye, Locky and of course, WannaCry all came to light in 2017, affecting millions of people around the world that have cost worldwide businesses an estimated $1 billion in 2017.
