Death penalty to life sentence? For harcore criminals.

For drugs, i think this is the gray area.
Should drugs peddlars be subjected to the death penalty, life sentence or heavy imprisonment? For murder cases, no doubt, death penalty or life sentence.

For drugs peddlars, this is the gray area. For drug lords or drugs manufacturer, no doubt heavy sentences should be imposed on them. For those kakis, you have to look at their cases. Just bcoz they got caught with a small packet, they deserved death sentence? Bear in mind, the crime they committed isn't justified by death penalty, death penalty more as a deterrence. Why there is this strong deterrence? An example is the historical Opium War in China. It weakened the country so badly BUT if we look at modern days, countries that don't have death penalty for drugs, do they get busted? For drugs peddlers, the small ones, i don't think death penalty is appropriate BUT the sentence shouldn't be light either. For Singapore, they changed their law in certain way where if the peddler cooperate with the authority, their sentence can be lighten.
