C.I. Holdings Bhd posted a pre-tax profit of RM15.47 million for the first-quarter ended June 30, 2010, up 41 per cent from RM11 million chalked up in the previous corresponding period.
Revenue rose 24 per cent to RM153.58 million, from RM123.77 million registered previously, the group said in a Bursa filing today.
The group said its improved quarterly results were due to its beverage division's continued growth in non-carbonated portfolio, growth in isotonic beverages and strong promotional campaigns.
'Successful Hari Raya festive selling campaigns and an aggressive distribution drive contributed positively as well,' it said.
Its historic base of carbonated brands also helped maintain the company's positive performance.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the group expects its financial performance for the financial year ending June 30, 2011 to improve. -- Bernama
