Sime Darby/E&O: Sime Darby will not be required to extend a MGO for E&O. The SC had found no collusion between Sime Darby and E&O.s MD Datuk Terry Tham with regard to the deal.
''
''
Proton: Contrary to speculation, its MD said that Proton is not looking to sell a stake in its loss making Group Lotus to a company linked to the owner of Renault F1 team or any other suitor. Citing unnamed sources, Genii Capital had advanced talks with owners of Group of Lotus about taking over its management and financial interest. Genii Capital could even take a majority stake in Lotus. Group Lotus is 100% owned by Proton, which in turn is 42% owned by Khazanah Nasional Bhd.
''
However, industry observers said it was unlikely that Proton would sell a majority stake given the time and money invested and political implication for Proton and the government. The selling of a minority stake in Group Lotus, however, could have long term strategic benefits in addition to helping Proton mitigate financial risks from Lotus' ongoing financial and operational turnaround.
