KUALA LUMPUR (July 18): Revenue Group Bhd’s co-founder and former director Brian Ng Shih Chiow, who is accused of forging invoices and purchase orders with the purpose of cheating the company, does not intend to send a letter of representation at this point in time.

His counsel Nur Izni Syazwani Ahmad from AmerBON said this to Sessions Court judge Rozina Ayob’s query during a brief case management on Tuesday (July 18).

A letter of representation is normally sent by lawyers seeking a reduction or a withdrawal of the charges their client faces.

Early last month, Shih Chiow pleaded not guilty and claimed trial to 12 counts of forgery of invoices and purchase orders with the purpose of cheating the company.

The fifty-year-old was charged with forging invoices and purchase orders, amounting to RM13.829 million, for several companies between May 2020 to August 2022.

All charges were framed under Section 468 of the Penal Code and if convicted, he faces a maximum jail term of seven years and shall be liable to a fine.

On Tuesday, Rozina also made an order to immediately replace Ng’s bailer with another person.

Shih Chiow’s current bailer is his brother — fellow Revenue Group co-founder and former director Ng Shih Fang — who is also an accused in another case, where both siblings were charged in March with criminal misappropriation of property.

They were charged with having common intent to fraudulently cause a CIMB Bank Bhd officer to register the company’s asset, a Toyota Vellfire, under Shih Fang’s name. The registration was done without a resolution from the company’s board of directors.

Deputy public prosecutor Mohd Shahrom Idris also informed the court that part of the documents have been handed over to the defence, and the rest would be completed within the month.

The next case management has been set for Sept 6.
