KUALA LUMPUR (March 26): A KK Mart outlet situated in Bidor, Perak was hit by a petrol bomb Tuesday morning, according to a report by China Press. The petrol bomb landed on the sidewalk of the shop lot without igniting.

The perpetrator reportedly committed the crime at around 5am this morning, according to employees at the store who lodged a police report.

The incident came shortly after Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution on Monday warned the wider public against taking the law into their own hands.

Saifuddin was commenting on concerns raised about vigilante groups that had tracked down two private citizens who made comments about the ‘Allah’ socks controversy and forced the men to make confessions online.

Earlier on Tuesday, KK Supermart & Superstore Sdn Bhd (KK Mart), its founder and executive chairman Datuk Seri Dr Chai Kee Kan, his wife Datin Seri Loh Siew Mui — a KK Mart director — and four others were separately charged with intentionally wounding the religious feelings of Muslims over the display of socks bearing the word "Allah" at a KK Mart store.

Both Chai and Loh pleaded not guilty at the Shah Alam Sessions Court.

KK Mart had on Monday filed a lawsuit against Xin Jiang Chang Sdn Bhd at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, alleging sabotage of its business in the supply of the socks.
