HSI Futures


The S&P 500 and the Dow closed slightly lower on Monday as a drop in oil prices dragged down energy stocks, while tech names Apple and Alphabet helped lift the Nasdaq.


Hong Kong stocks followed Asian markets higher, after disappointing U.S. economic growth data reduced expectations of imminent rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve. Today's trading could be affected by a typhoon warning by Hong Kong observatory. Traders are advised to keep a tight watch on its trading hour today, based on the typhoon warning by HKO on its website http://www.weather.gov.hk/contentc.htm

Plan A : Above 22124, do nothing

Plan B : Below 21987, do nothing

Plan C : Attempt selling if market stays below 22048

Plan D : Cut above 22124

Plan E : Consider buying only if market gap down and rebounds from 21987

Plan F : Cut below 21926

Market rebounded well yesterday after rebounding from an intraday low of 1649. Successful close above 1662 showed that market was pretty firm despite failing to take off its 1670-level convincingly yet. Market is expected to consolidate today with some downward bias in the morning as regional markets opened fairly weak with a stronger Yen.

Plan A : Attempt buying if market opens low and supports well above 1658

Plan B : Cut below 1655

Plan C : Consider selling if market consistently stays below 1663

Plan D : Cut above 1666

FCPO gap up at opening on Monday but it gradually tumbled towards the second half. Dalian and overnight soybean oil turnaround, losing the gain from yesterday, while Ringgit stays at RM4.05 against the greenback.

Plan A : Buy if market opened gap down and supported above 2303. Targets are 2319, 2328, 2336 and 2369.

Plan B : Sell if market rebounded and resisted around 2319. Targets are 2309, 2303 and 2286.

Plan C : If breach 2319, trade consolidation range within 2328/2336 to 2309/2286.

Plan D : Above 2328/2336, no fresh position.

Plan E : Below 2303, no fresh position.
