HSI Futures


U.S. stocks closed mostly lower Thursday as modest gains in financial stocks failed to offset declines in health care and utilities stocks. Utilities closed almost 1.1 percent lower as the worst performer in the S&P 500, follower by the health care sector, which lost 0.9 percent. 


Hang Seng closed at a 19-month high after the Federal Reserve hiked interest rate, as expected, but signalled no pick-up in the pace of tightening. Market ended up 0.1%, at 24288.28 points, its highest close since early August, 2015.

Plan B : Below 23919, do nothing

Plan C : Attempt selling only if prices fall below 24040  

Plan D : Cut above 24090

Plan E : Consider buying if market retraced and supported well above 24105

Market outperformed on Thursday and recorded the highest at 1745 since July, 2015. Prices may spike further if support is firm, however, it's advisable to watch closely.

Plan A : Attempt long if market holds firm above 1735

Plan B : Cut below 1733

Plan C : Consider selling if market surges but fails to breach above 1750

FCPO experienced switch month effect with tumble in the morning and recovery stepped in before the first session close. The spike was unexpectedly fast, likely triggering the stop losses queue along the way up. Dalian and soybean oil insignificant while Ringgit stays at RM4.43 against the greenback.

Plan A : Buy if market retraced and supported above 2774. Targets are 2790, 2817, 2831 and 2847.

Plan B : Sell if market gap up and resisted around 2847. Targets are 2817, 2807, 2787 and 2767.

Plan C : Above 2847, no fresh position.

Plan D : Below 2774, no fresh position.
