HSI Futures

U.S. stocks started the fourth quarter on a strong note on Monday, with the S&P 500, the Dow and the Russell 2000 all hitting record high closes as data pointed to underlying strength in the economy.

Hong Kong stocks ended higher last Friday, but the benchmark index posted its first monthly loss this year, an indication the market’s upward momentum may be slowing amid worries over U.S. monetary tightening and a China economic slowdown. Hong Kong will resume trading today after shut for National Day celebration yesterday.

FKLI

FKLI started the new month week yesterday with market closing at 1747. Although market look likely to open firmer today after a strong overnight Dow close, sustainability of it would be questioned. Failure to stay firm above 1751.5 would continue to bring fear to investors who are still feeling uneasy after recent slump.
