Prospects are high for Team Sapura Cycling
The success of Team Sapura Cycling (TSC) in the 25th edition of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2020 in Feb is prove that local road cyclists have the ability to compete with the world’s best and potential to become world champions, including competing in the famed Tour de France.
The team backed by Sapura Energy Bhd, a major player in the global oil and gas industry with presence worldwide created history by becoming the first local outfit to emerge overall champions in the tournament.
The team also had the honour of producing the overall champion rider in Italian Danilo Celano, who held on to the yellow jersey he has worn since stage four in Genting Highlands on Feb 10.
National rider Muhamad Nur Aiman Mohd Zariff of TSC also etched his name in the record books by becoming the first Malaysian in the 25-year history of LTdl to win the red jersey as the King of Mountain.
