PETALING JAYA: The supply of vegetables from Cameron Highlands is still stable, despite the enhanced movement control order at Kampung Raja there.

The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry said in a statement on Friday (June 18) that the supply chain from Cameron Highlands was not severely affected.

"As stated previously, only 30% to 40% of the vegetables from Cameron Highlands come from the farms in Kampung Raja. This percentage will not disrupt the supply chain at markets entirely.

"The ministry has also been informed that other vegetable farms in Cameron Highlands are operating as normal," it said.

It added that trucks carrying vegetables from Cameron Highlands are allowed to travel by the police.

"At the same time, the farms in Lojing are allowed to operate fully without any disruptions or transportation issues," it said.

Checks will be conducted nationwide to monitor prices and supplies at market, the ministry added, and action will be taken against those that make profit unscrupulously.

"Buyers are advised not to panic buy because vegetable supplies are stable," it said.
