KOTA BARU: Pas has rejected an accusation by Johor Umno deputy chief Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed who had labeled the party's three ministers in the cabinet as "menteri cap ayam" (low-quality ministers).

Pas vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, in rejecting the accusation, challenged Nur Jazlan to explain why he labelled them as such.

The Islamist party has three ministers in the cabinet, namely Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (Environment and Water Minister), Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (Energy and Natural Resources Minister) and Datuk Idris Ahmad (Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Religious Affairs).

Mohd Amar described Nur Jazlan as having a "psychological disorder". 

"He (Nur Jazlan) accused ministers from Pas of being incompetent and dragging the government down.

"It is weird that despite having many ministers in the cabinet, he (Nur Jazlan) is only focusing on the three Pas ministers and calling them names.

"The three only hold small positions in the cabinet and there are other ministers who hold more important positions. These are the ones he should focus on," said Mohd Amar, who is also deputy Kelantan Menteri Besar.

Mohd Amar was speaking to reporters after launching the Kelantan Green Kitchen programme in Panji today.

He believed that Nur Jazlan was trying to tarnish Pas' image.

"For Pas, all our three ministers have managed to perform well in the cabinet despite having no experience in the field," he said.

Nur Jazlan had accused Pas ministers of being incompetent and dragging the government down, and that they were only concerned with their positions and ranks.

He claimed that the Pas leaders' weaknesses had forced Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to shoulder the burden of various issues.

The current ministerial lineup, he claimed, could not be counted on and singled out the three Pas ministers as being of "cap ayam" quality.
