PETALING JAYA: The lack of consensus among Barisan Nasional's opponents to use their coalition logos in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15) is a sign of disunity and instability, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Barisan chairman said this showed that Opposition parties were only willing to work together to seize power, yet had different goals and ideologies.

“It is clear that they are willing to sleep on the same pillow (to get) power, but dream different dreams.

“This kind of disunity is one of the silent elements that lead to the formation of an unstable and chaotic government,” he said, adding that he believes Barisan is the only stable coalition due to its components having a long history together.

Perikatan Nasional component party Gerakan recently announced on Oct 18 that it would not contest in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu if it was forced to use the PAS logo.

On Oct 14, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the party would use its own logo and not the Perikatan logo in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.

Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said on Oct 22 that all Bersatu candidates in Kelantan would use the PAS logo instead of Perikatan's.

On Sunday (Oct 23), Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen also said his party's candidates in the state would use the DAP "rocket" logo instead of the Pakatan Harapan symbol in GE15.
