TUARAN: United Kinabalu Progressive Organisation (Upko) incoming president Datuk Ewon Benedick has called on the people of Sabah to give Pakatan Harapan (PH) a chance to prove its leadership in forming the federal government.

Ewon, who is contesting the Penampang parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15) said the PH leadership was now different from that in 2018.

"In 2018, PH was led by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed and his party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

"Today, PH is led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), which is a multiracial party.

"Anwar has never been a prime minister but was the best finance minister in Asia."

Ewon said PH had been empowered by the official participation of Upko as a Sabah-based party in the coalition.

"We will continue to raise the voice of Sabahans in PH. That's why on June 3, I, along with Sabah PH, filed a lawsuit against the federal government to claim the 40 per cent of the federal revenue derived from Sabah, as the state is entitled to in the Federal Constitution.

"I told Anwar that the determination of Sabah PH leadership will not be less than our fight in court to claim Sabah's rights as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement and the Federal Constitution.

"This is the difference between PH in 2022 and PH in 2018. The people of Sabah and the people of Malaysia should give the new PH leadership a chance to win this general election and then form the federal government," he said during the Sabah Harapan mega tour in Tuaran yesterday.

"One vote for PH is one vote for a government that rejects corruption and abuse of power, that wants to reform the government's governance so that it is more concerned about the people," he said.

Obviously a vote for Umno is a vote for Emperor Zahid! BN is non existent! Every BN vote goes to Zahid!
So basically, Umno is not the Umno we used to know!
Better vote for Harapan! Dap and Pkr have seen some reform where new leaders are taking over from the old guards!

Anwar is getting support from Chinese and not Malay. Keadilan no chance to win in this election. Unless new issue happens in the next two weeks.

BN weeded out those deemed not helping the country to be great again.

There are numerous narratives with the attempts to debunk the justification with regards to the real issues that confronting the nation which can bring Malaysia to be on its knees.

Put race/heritage, religion and political aspiration aside, why not debate on the most appropriate/experience/qualified person who should be identified to lead this country out of this difficult situation.

A situation that was never being experienced before when putting those issues together or separately. There are economy uncertainties bearing by the peoples during the political upheaval in the government.

Seeing that the inflation has not being tamed from the few interest hikes imposed lately, our central bank may continue to increase the interest rate again.

The value of the Ringgit is experiencing yet another slide this morning until almost RM4.75 for one US Dollar.

What is adding to the burdening task for the country to repay those huge national debts will be the depreciation rates of the local currency when comparing the major currency. Much more Ringgit is need to repay the same debts or the tenure to repay will be prolonged until years later.
