As long as an "i-diot" can restrain China and makes Malaysia & Bursa happy, then we are ok with that.

Of course RM2 mil is achievable, if one does not draw down for purchase of house, reduce housing loan, education, etc. plus if the company pays high bonuses! Power of compounding!

@Speakup, how about M40 taxes also going to support rich school kids, esp those SRJK students who come to school in big cars Benz, BMW, Alphard, etc etc!!!! Should exclude them so that other poor/rural kids have better allocations.

Dont worry, whoever did their part as Malaysian citizen by registering in PADU will receive something when the fuel subsidy is removed later. Only those sour grapes are making noises here!!

Generally, rakyat doesnt want GST but expect subsidies to be sustained. Where is the money coming from??? So, 2% is fair. Dont worry about the rich/business. They will continue to make more money, so 2% is nothing!!! The best optionis PLEASE BRING BACK the GST that SHOULDNT HAVE been put to 0% after PH won the election. The GST manifesto was the biggest mistake they made, so dont make any more mistake!!!

No guts to re-enforce GST although down-deep inside, our leaders know that is the right way forward. Perhaps, Malaysians (common people including governing and opposition leaders) need to shed the "kampung-mentality" to understand this better. The right TOOL must be used correctly to see the outcome desired. Similiarly GST as a tool must be implemented correctly to achieve the desired outcome, ie the rate must also be just --- too low a rate will not bring us anywhere; too high a rate will be a burden to the rakyat!

As long as the "subsidy or handicap" mentality remain strong, there is no way the high-income aspiration is within sight soon. No point having lower unemployment rate when many youths ended up as Shopee/Panda/Grab "runners", ha, ha, ha

Well, to me Gas Malaysia's dividend yield of 6.2% is good enough although it is a boring stock. But that doesnt mean I would divest Maybank. Maybank is still a darling!

@ks55, In the case of Kongsi Raya, if Monday is a holiday to celebrate Chinese New Year and Hari Raya happens to fall on Tuesday, will there be a replacement holiday for 2nd day of CNY since Tuesday is NOT defined as a rest day? So, business resume on Thursday or Friday?

Ha, ha, ha....Chinese schools have been accepting donations from breweries. The school leavers eventually become alcohols supporters.....Business of brewery companies continue to thrive...Government collect taxes....more budget for National schools but chinese schools want to be more finanicial indepedent by seeking donations from "sin" sector.... this goes on and on.....but children from this group become better and far better????!!!!! Puzzling, but dont blame others' failure on "sins"

If govt can use taxes from tobacco, breweries and gambling for opex an development, i see no reasons why donations from brewery company cannot be used for school.... unless there is hipocricy in existing guidelines!

@speakup, not obsession, but rather the case where race and religion seems to be "fear factors" that politicians & policy makers prefer to instill to continue to rule, not realizing that these are factors that really held us back for years when compared to other SEA countries, including Indonesia.

Reducing subsidies is the way to go. For how long we have to put blanket subsidies in place, esp. when opportunists are the one benefitting. Rafizi, be brave. reduce blanket subsidies, but allocate subsidies at targeted groups, set "KPI" for subsidies provided.

Blog: Abolition of examination in schools to reduce pressure on pupils — Fadhlina
6 days ago | Report Abuse
What a joke! Just because that majority couldnt keep up with the "race", then abolish that exam. Then, no comparison "siapa bodoh, siapa lebih cerdik, siapa pandai, siapa lembab, siapa masih malas, etc!!!" If you dont prepare children for pressure "indoor", can they withstand the pressure out at the real world ??
