Another 1,597 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 5,008,452.

There were 2,596 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,951,236.

There are now 20,468 active cases, of which 19,145 or 93.5% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 0 (0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,237 (6%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 86 are in ICU with 54 in need of respiratory assistance. 

Another six deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,748.
