GEORGE TOWN: The Sabah government announced RM10 million in flight subsidies for Sabah students pursuing their tertiary education outside the state.

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor made the announcement during his visit to Penang for the Breaking of Fast Ceremony with higher education students here.

He said the one-off special assistance of RM600 per Sabah student is from the chief minister's special allocation.

"The special one-off flight ticket assistance will be given directly to the respective students.

"However, detailed information and payment mechanisms will be further discussed by the relevant parties.

"This special assistance can be used at any time to return to Sabah."
