KUALA LUMPUR: MCA's take on current affairs, including Padu and the economy, was discussed between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and party president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong during an hour-long meeting.

Dr Wee said during the meeting at Anwar's office in Putrajaya, he shared the party's view of various issues affecting Malaysians.

"I conveyed some views from MCA regarding current issues, particularly related to the economy, education, racial issues, cost of living, the Central Database Hub (Padu) and policies that require serious attention by the government," he said in a Facebook statement on Tuesday (April 9) after meeting Anwar.

Dr Wee also thanked Anwar for always taking the time to listen to his views for the betterment of the people and the country.

"We (the MCA) will continue to carry out our responsibilities and play the role of check and balance in the government.

"We support any decision that benefits the people," he said.

Dr Wee, who is also Ayer Hitam MP, said he raised several issues faced by his constituency during the meeting.

"There are several issues related to my area in Ayer Hitam such as infrastructure development to enable the Yong Peng District Council (MDYP) to be upgraded to a municipal council, the Yong Peng market construction project and the development of Yong Peng High School," he said.
