KOTA KINABALU: The people of Sabah are encouraged to uphold unity and collectively strengthen their commitment to the development and advancement of the state.

During his three-year tenure, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said that the state government has encountered numerous tests and challenges.

"From enduring the challenges posed by the pandemic to grappling with economic issues and political turmoil, our tenure had been marked by various trials. However, thanks to the patience, resilience, and unity among the people, we have faced everything with patience and wisdom.

"At the same time, I am also proud that Sabah, with its cultural diversity and beliefs, allows us to live in peace and mutual respect for each other.

"This situation has presented vast opportunities for us to leverage our potential and elevate our families, communities, state, and country to a higher standard.

"This is the importance of security amidst religious, cultural and belief differences," he expressed in a special message for Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2024.

He also urged the people not to overlook expressing gratitude to the security forces and frontline workers who tirelessly serve the country, even during festive seasons.

"We mustn't neglect those in need, who deserve to be remembered and assisted, especially during this festive season.

"This is also the time for us to visit each other to strengthen relationships among family members, relatives, and friends.

"In this regard, on behalf of my family, the cabinet, and the state government, I take this opportunity to wish everyone in this state a happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir and Batin."
