PETALING JAYA: Selangor PAS Youth media director Hezry Yasin has apologised over a now-deleted Facebook post that allegedly insulted the Royal institution.

Hezry, who was criticised by internet users for his original post, apologised for his mistake and said he had not intended to insult the Royal institution.

“I was honestly a bit speechless. I am sorry for my mistake. My writings were just a reflection of my personal thoughts.

"I have no intention of insulting the Royal institution,” he said in the post on Sunday (April 14).

"Anyway, once again I apologise to all. I also do not deny that praying for fellow Muslims is important," he said.

Meanwhile, Selangor PAS Youth secretary Aubidullah Fahim, in a statement, said Hezry's initial Facebook post did not reflect the party's stance.

"Hezry is also not a PAS Youth exco member and any statements by him do not represent PAS Youth or any other entities within PAS," Aubidullah said.

He added that Selangor PAS Youth would leave it to the PAS disciplinary committee to determine if Hezry's actions had gone against party discipline.

Aubidullah also said Selangor PAS Youth had full trust in the police to carry out investigations into the matter.

Johor PAS Youth chief Ahmad Nawfal Mahfodz said the party’s state chapter was disappointed with Hezry’s posting, saying that PAS will continue to uphold the Royal institution.

“Johor PAS Youth calls on all party members and the public to remain calm. We regret Hezry’s personal view.

“We believe that his decision to delete the post was because he had realised his mistake and will not repeat it,” Ahmad said in a statement.
