KOTA KINABALU: PKR's top leadership will decide on who will lead its Sabah chapter soon, says party president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Speaking to reporters after chairing a meeting with Sabah PKR division chiefs, Anwar said more than 10 names have been submitted for the party's top post in the state.

"They (division chiefs) have given their views and I will share the (party's) decision soon.

"I will refer the matter to the central leadership," he said, adding the leadership always consulted division chiefs and considered their views.

Meanwhile, PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil said the party could announce its decision tomorrow or the day after.

He said if Anwar needs more time, a decision may be made at the party's next meeting.

Last month, 15 of 26 Sabah PKR division chiefs demanded the incumbent state leader Datuk Sangkar Rasam step down.

Former Sabah PKR chief, Datuk Christina Liew has endorsed Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, the Deputy Higher Education Minister, to be appointed the next Sabah PKR leader.

Mustapha is the PKR Kota Belud division chief.
