PUTRAJAYA: Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli is believed to have had his statement taken twice at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here today.

Initially, Mohd Shukri attended to provide statements regarding investigations into a false claims case amounting to RM600,000, allegedly involving his son.

However, shortly after concluding this, he was alleged to have been called in again, this time in connection with a case of suspected power abuse.

At present, more than 20 media practitioners are gathered in front of the MACC headquarters building to follow the developments of the case.

It is understood that an official statement will be issued by the MACC regarding the matter.

Earlier, MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that Mohd Shukri had attended to provide statements at the MACC headquarters.

Mohd Shukri's son was among six individuals remanded by the MACC to assist in investigations into the falsification of documents involving a false claim amounting to RM600,000.

Last Sunday, MACC was reported to be investigating a senior leader in the northern region of the country, suspected of appointing several companies linked to him for a supply project estimated at RM300,000.

The leader is also suspected of appointing several companies for road repair and maintenance works, involving an allocation of approximately RM1 million from the Menteri Besar Office, where the companies are believed to be linked with the son of the said leader.
