KULIM: Owners of some 175,000 vehicles who do not register under the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) by this Sunday can't claim the subsidy for diesel purchased at petrol stations in June.

Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Fuziah Salleh said those who have registered before June 30 but have yet to get the fleet cards could claim their additional expenses from the government since there was no more subsidised diesel at the pump from June 10.

"They just have to file receipts of their diesel purchases to make their claims.

"However, if they fail to register by June 30, they will not be entitled to a subsidy claim for the month of June," she said in a press conference after the state-level SKDS 2.0 Open Day and Consumerism Carnival here today.

Fuziah added that all vehicle owners were entitled to subsidies in the following months after they registered for te SKDS.

"Based on the data, there are 410,000 vehicles eligible for subsidies under the SKDS, but only 234,000 have registered, meaning 175,000 vehicles have yet to register for fleet cards," she said.

Subsidised diesel is available to 33 types vehicles through the use of fleet cards after the government rationalised diesel subsidies on June 10.
