KUALA LUMPUR: The Defence Ministry will take appropriate action following police investigations into allegations that a motivational speaker was threatened and assaulted at Dewan Tun Templer, Sungai Besi Camp, last Friday.

"Actually, both parties have lodged police reports.
"We are waiting for the police investigation report, which will determine the necessary course of action," he said in a question from Commander (RTD) Nordin Ahmad Ismail (PN-Lumut) at the Dewan Rakyat today.
On Tuesday, Major (R) Mohamad Qayyum Badaruddin, 56, claimed that he was hurled abusive words and abused by an officer who is also a counsellor, believed to be from the Counselling Unit of the MAF Headquarters when he was about to give a lecture to cadet officers of the Military Training Academy (ALK), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM).
Mohamad Qayyum said the officer had also threatened to punch him, claiming that he need not be respected since he was no longer a military officer who is in service.
