Soon after the FBM KLCI traded into the positive territory after the opening bell, the key index succumbed to further selling pressure led by MISC (-RM1.09), Petronas Chemical (-30.0 sen) and Petronas Gas (-70.0 sen). Also, traders were being cautious ahead of the next 1MDB bond payment on 11th May.  Meanwhile, steel or metal related counters were traded actively into the positive region like MYCRON (+10.0 sen) and ARANK (+3.0 sen).
