Despite a softer closing on Wall Street, the FBM KLCI managed to eke out marginal gains to end higher at 1,691.38 pts (+1.81 pts) as GENTING (+15.0 sen) and MAYBANK (+5.0 sen) were traded positively. Sentiments were fairly positive on the broader market as advancers led decliners by 402-to-374 stocks. However, some of the metal-related stocks have taken a pause on the back of profit taking activities; MASTEEL (-2.0 sen) and MELEWAR (-1.0 sen). Nevertheless, semiconductor related stocks like JHM (+5.0 sen) and UNISEM (+6.0 sen) ended on a strong footing.
