FBM KLCI: 1,501.88 pts (+58.38pts, +4.04%)

The FBM KLCI (+4.04%) jumped and closed above the psychological 1,500 level as investors cheered that we have a conclusive GE15 outcome with the Pakatan Harapan Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim being appointed as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister. Market breadth turned positive as the advancers trounced the decliners by 981-to-197 stocks. 12 out of 13 major indices surged and ended in the positive territory, led by the technology sector (+6.63%), underpinned by buying momentum in INARI (+24.0 sen), GREATEC (+71.0 sen), and MYEG (+8.5 sen), while the plantation sector (-0.33%) was the sole declining sector.
