The FBM KLCI (-0.02%) ended marginally lower as investors took cue from Wall Street’s decline last Friday. Market breadth remained negative as the decliners led the advancers by 486-to-370 stocks. The construction sector (-1.65%) tumbled on selldown in GAMUDA (-10.0 sen), IJM (-5.0 sen), and WCEHB (-0.5 sen), while the telecommunications & media sector (+1.47%) advanced as MAXIS (+9.0 sen), TIMECOM (+16.0 sen), and CDB (+2.0 sen) saw buying interest for the session.
