The FBM KLCI traded flat for the session as profit taking activities emerged as 60% of the index heavyweights closed lower; top laggards include CDB (-9.0 sen) and MRDIY (-8.0 sen). Market breadth was negative with losers outpaced gainers with 526 decliners, 498 gainers, while 405 traded unchanged. On the broader market, the Industrial Products & Services sector rose 0.71% as building material stocks like PMETAL (+8.0 sen) and PMBTECH (+15.0 sen) traded higher. Meanwhile, the Energy sector gained 0.57% amid firmer Brent oil prices, trading above the $88/bbl.
