The FBM KLCI (-0.36%) closed lower, in line with the mixed regional stock markets' performances and weaker trading tone in the US; the key index was dragged by selected Telco, Utilities and Healthcare heavyweights such as CDB (-8.0 sen), YTLPOWR (-11.0 sen) and IHH (-8.0 sen). Market breadth was negative as losers led gainers by 588-to-422 stocks. On the broader market, the Plantation sector (+0.58%) was the leading sector led by buying interest in IOICORP (+4.0 sen) and UTDPLT (+24.0 sen) as CPO price surged above RM4,000, while the Energy sector (-1.26%) declined due to selling pressure in VELESTO (-2.0 sen) and HIBISCS (-5.0 sen).
