Unisem adopts Step-Up Practice 5.4 of the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance which limits the tenure of Independent Directors to 9 years without further extension, this practice is also written in the Board Charter of the Company. Mr Ang Chye Hock was re-designated as Independent Director in January 2016. He completes his 9-year tenure of service as an Independent Director in January 2025. He therefore retires as director of the Company effective 31 Dec 2024.
