Tan Sri Dato' Dr Syed Jalaludin bin Syed Salim graduated as a Doctor of philosophy from London University and has been conferred five (5) more Honorary Doctorate Degree from Hull University, United Kingdom; Soka University, Japan; Thaksin University, Thailand; Open University Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Perlis.

A leading academician and a senior fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia with vast experience in corporate affairs. Tan Sri Syed Jalaludin started his corporate career in the oil and gas industries as an independent member of ESSO Berhad and later Preton Berhad . Tan Sri Syed Jalaludin was the longest Chairman of Bank Rakyat Malaysia and also a founding Director of the Capital Market Development Fund Board. Tan Sri Syed Jalaludin is well verse with in Islamic finance as he was a member on INCEIF (International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance) Executive Committee since its inception until retirement March 2021. As the founding Chairman off the Halal Industry Development Coporation, Tan Sri Syed Jalaludin was also responsible for laying the foundations of the rapidly expanding Halal Industry in Malaysia.
He also holds various positions in both Public and Private universities.
