Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr.) Hamid Bugo has served in both the public and private sectors. Tan Sri Hamid was Administration Manager of Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd. (a joint venture of Petronas, Shell and Mitsubitshi) and General Manager of the Land Custody and Development Authority, Sarawak. Tan Sri Hamid also held the post of State Secretary of Sarawak from 1992 to 2000. As State Secretary he represented the State Government in various companies and statutory bodies including Malaysian Airline System Bhd, Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd., Employees Provident Fund, University Malaysia Sarawak and University Pertanian Malaysia.
