Attended the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London in which he obtained membership with the Associate of City & Guilds Institute , Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Imperial College and Master of Science in Computer Science and also an associate member of the Institute of Electrical Engineering, United Kingdom.

He joined Teck Guan Holdings Sdn Bhd 's Group of Companies on 23 November 1976 as a Personal Assistant to the Managing Director. Since 1 January 1980 until now , he is the Director/ Manager of the Management Information System Department of the Teck Guan Holdings Group. In that capacity, he is responsible for the computerisation of the accounting system of the companies. In addition, he was also involved in special project requiring engineering and technical knowledge. He currently sits on the Board of Teck Guan Perdana Bhd's subsidiaries and several other private limited companies within the Teck Guan Holdings Group.
