Mr. Au Siew Loon commenced his articleship with Ernst and Young, Malaysia in 1981 and was seconded to Ernst and Young, London in 1986 for a period of 18 months. He left the profession in 1989.
He was the chief financial officer of Hap Seng Consolidated Berhad (HSCB) since 3 September 2012 before his retirement from the position on 31 May 2022. Prior to him joining the HSCB group of companies, he had held various senior management positions in companies involved in the financial services, insurance and food and beverage industries. He spent more than two decades in QSR Brands Sdn Bhd, a large fast food operator and food processor/manufacturer, and had held various senior positions in the areas of internal audit, finance, upstream and downstream operations of the group.
