1974 - 1990 Dato' Lee joined KPMG to begin his articleship in 1974. Upon, qualifying as a Certified Public Accountant in 1978 he was transferred to KPMG, New York for a couple of years. He was admitted as a partner in 1985 and was responsible for the Malaysian management consultancy practice. He left the practice in 1990. 1990 – 1992 He was appointed the Vice President of the Samling Group in Sarawak. He was responsible for the downstream manufacturing activities of the Group. 1992 – 1994 Dato' Lee joined the Renong Group as Managing Director of Renong Overseas Corporation. He spearheaded and looked after all of the Group’s investments overseas. 1994 – 2000 He was Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Peremba- Kentz Ltd. – an engineering company with operations in South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Thailand, Ireland and Malaysia. 2001 – 2002 Dato' Lee was appointed the Managing Director of Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad, the second largest cement company in Malaysia. 2002 – now He joined the Malton Group. Dato' Lee is currently the Managing Director of Malton Berhad. He is a director of Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd. He is responsible for the development of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, an iconic retail development in the heart of the city.
