Appointed as Non-Executive Director on 18 February 2002. Joined the Lafarge Group in 1970 and became Executive Vice President for Human Resource and Corporate Communications in 1984. He was appointed as Senior Executive Vice President in the Lafarge Group in 1989, and also held the position of President & Chief Executive Officer, Lafarge Corporation in North America from 1992 to 1996. He chaired the Executive Committee of the Lafarge Cement Division from September 2000 to September 2007 and then served as Chief Operating Officer of Lafarge S.A. until June 2008. He has now retired from Lafarge S.A.
