As it gets nearer d exercise date, they w control d CA price to match as close as possible d underlying mother share's price so tht they cud square off their position w d bank without incurring any losses. But for those who buy high now, they can only hope d mother could reach high enuf to exercise d CA but w no control over it. If mother dun go as high, then hv to write-off everything lor despite after hving waited for 1 year. Tis is just my thots only.

The CA is the derivative of d underlying asset i.e. mother Dsonic. Buying CA today w give u an option to 'buy' d mother share 1 yr down d road. Literally speaking, there is no actual buying taking place coz d transaction w be settled in cash. Whoever loses w hv to pay cash to settle d position. If d mother share goes higher than d exercise price in 1 yr's time, then watever u pay today for d CA is worth at least smtg in future when u exercise the warrant. Otherwise, wat u pay today w b sunk cost and d option w be left to expire on its own by doin nothing.

So yes, options like any other derivatives r highly risky. U can make lots of $$$ very quickly and can also loose yr pants off very quickly too. Choice is yours. Typically, derivatives r used for hedging purposes to manage risk.

In deciding whether to put yr money in a call warrant, u need to ask yrself whether d mother share can surpass d exercise price. It is asking u to anticipate or bet against d market. AmBank have nothing to loose as they r just a deal maker and they only earn commissions. There is another party to d transaction at d other end who wants an option to sell d mother share in future. That party should hv d power to move d market if it turns unfavorable to them later. This is just my thots in d matter.

I believe Karex will emulate Dsonic's excellent performance in d near future.

hi Dean1213, it can be very tricky to decide wat and when is d best price and time respectively to buy an asset. Ideally, we always want to get d best buy every time. But if u r faced w a hot and much sought-after asset like Karex, tht best buy is always very difficult to achieve. If u procrastinate yr buying further, u cud well be buying at an even higher price and u still wud be contented w it. My advise is: if u hv decided in wanting Karex, make d plunge sooner than later. Unless u r a contra player, any price is a good price to buy and d market w always give u an opportunity to reduce yr holding cost later. ALWAYS remember, Karex is a HOT asset from d very beginning and it w be much sought-after from now onwards. Happy investing and all d best.

hi chinesetea, I concur w yr comparing Karex w Kossan & Dsonic. However, if u look at their historical price trend, Karex's is much more encouraging vis-a-vis Dsonic especially. Karex took off from d starting block like a rocket whereas Dsonic started to come alive only in Jun 2013 after hving gone public in Sep 2012. I believe Karex cud even surpass Dsonic's sterling track record given time. All the best.
