Contribution of this business division to revenue improved strongly in 1QFY17 to 83.0% from 66% in FY16 (FY15: 52%) as market demand for cable products improved, reinforced by several exceptional orders received. Revenue of power and telecommunication cables segment grew 12.6% to RM856.6m in FY16 (FY15: RM760.6m). Also, this segment is the main contributor to the Group’s profit in 1QFY17.

Proxy to Sarawak infrastructure play. Outlook remains steady as mega projects such as Pan Borneo Highway, TRX, MRT2, LRT3, coupled with the implementation of Bekalan Elektrik Luar Bandar (BELB) may spur the demands of cables in the local markets. Furthermore, Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) will be implementing budgeted projects to meet shortage of power supply within Sarawak. Scable expects transmission lines amounting to more than RM500m in value will be rollout by SEB in 2017.

砂拉越電纜相信，這項總值8137萬令吉工程，將正面貢獻公司2017至2019財年的盈利和淨資產。

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak Cable Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Trenergy Infrastructure Sdn Bhd has received a Letter of Acceptance from Tenaga Nasional Bhd for the installation of the double circuit 500kV overhead transmission line from Alor Gajah to Bahau South (Melaka).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, it said the project was valued at RM81.368mil.

The project is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the Sarawak Cable Group for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2017 to Dec 31, 2019.

Sarawak Cable also announced its financial results. For its first quarter to March 31, 2017, the company’s net profit increased 8.35% to RM3.87mil on the back of a 30.9% drop in revenue to RM251.85mil. It said the better net profit was due to higher demand for the power and communications cable

I believe this stock will go above 1.75. maybe historical high rm2.20 . As there are lots of mega projects announced by Sarawak government- 5000 telecommunications towers,pan Borneo, Lrt project lastesly announced by Sarawak ketua menteri.
With its competitive advance, I believe in near future the price surely will go higher n higher.
