goldenray, agreed.... enter now... offer price is uncertain but surely high enough to please long term minority interests to let go :)
2014-08-05 15:04 | Report Abuse
take it private and get delisted immediately, don't announce the ugly/shocking quarterly results to the whole world anymore. sungguh memalukan :)

national pride, bankruptcy for mas is suicidal for political parties in msia.... if PETRONAS can become the largest shareholder of MISC, why cant PETRONAS do the same for MAS? :)
2014-08-05 15:01 | Report Abuse
agreed... najib and borther wont like to be remembered for the downfall of mas during their times. U-turn with airasia due to them :)
2014-08-04 17:38 | Report Abuse
offer price for privatisation should not be lower than 40sen, fingers crossed :)
2014-08-04 17:37 | Report Abuse
May be, PETRONAS will become the buyer of MAS for privatisation like it bought MISC shares to become the largest shareholder of MISC.

Najib and nazir would do their best to rescue mas, they would not like to be remembered for causing mas failure, u turn with airasia's share swap

Many things need to change :)

Govt wont let mas to declare bankruptcy. National pride. Privatisation. Spin off profitable units, sell maswings to sarawak state govt, etc. I think before aug 31, no need to announce quarterly results anymore after being delisted as a private co :)
2014-07-30 09:53 | Report Abuse
change of name for MAS soon , I expect... like UEA, its airlines also never call UAE Airlines.... for example, Etihad, etc.... rebranding, etc etc are change of ownership. :)
2014-07-29 20:56 | Report Abuse
National airlines, the pride of the nation, rescue is a must, privatisation or takeover by private, no bankruptcy, for sure.

Market price of mas share was rm3.68 last time, bn federal govt paid rm8 to buyback from tajuddin. Expecting the offer price for privatising mas between 45sen to 50sen , :)

http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/highlights/299991-highlight-mas-airasia-x-to-merge-hl.html mas share price will fly if it happens... may tony fernandes wants to do some national services this time... it could happen the merger, only involve airasia x.... no issues with anti competition act, all domestic routes are under airasia... they have learnt it... mas needs to rebrand also, airasia x has greater market share, airasia x has expertise in cost mgmt., a good synergy this time :)

Supported by almost politicians, it will go up further :) http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/269683

someone already computed, 30% of mas issued shares (not owned by khazanah) is about rm2.5bil only... it was also highlighted, if firefly, terminal services, mas eng are listed, they could get back this amount or more... I think also, mas still own some shares of brahim, its catering provider, interesting :)

the big chunk of 0.23 may be cleared by closing today
2014-07-23 16:39 | Report Abuse
must be something, back to 23sen
2014-07-23 16:04 | Report Abuse
the share premium from market price should be at least 30% or higher if privatisation happens , fingers crossed
2014-07-23 07:35 | Report Abuse
I expect not lower than 40sen, in order to get the consent from minority shareholders , those who have been holding mas shares long time ago? :)
2014-07-23 07:33 | Report Abuse
Not based on nta, how much was paid to tajuddin when the bn federal govt buyback mas shares? How much higher compared to market price at that time? :)
2014-07-22 21:10 | Report Abuse
I think mas shares would be grabbed like hot cakes till the announcement of the offer price for privatisation. Exciting time for mas share traders :)
2014-07-22 17:36 | Report Abuse
more chasing up its price is expected throughout this week or thereafter:)
2014-07-22 17:35 | Report Abuse
23sen is just the beginning :)
2014-07-22 17:35 | Report Abuse
mas is expected to continue to rise in price till the announcement of its privatisation's offer price :)
2014-07-22 11:33 | Report Abuse
cant let mas declares bankruptcy, more damaging to the brand and the confidence of passengers.. no money = cutting corner, a risk right? if privatised, 100% owned by the msian govt, guarantee with full support from the govt, people have more confidence especially after 2 major events... my prediction, certainly , no bankruptcy.... JAL case was different, they only lose money without any crisis of confidence, without major event like MAS... the BN federal govt would not want to further jeopardise the confidence among its passengers globally. fingers crossed
2014-07-22 11:29 | Report Abuse
this week get the green light, then privatise, no need to announce the results of Q2, 2014, avoid the shame also haha
2014-07-22 10:52 | Report Abuse
how much did the bn federal govt pay tajuddin to buyback the mas shares last time? history repeats itself this round? :)

The privatisation of mas is seemed 2b really approaching http://www.therakyatpost.com/news/2014/07/04/cimbs-nazir-head-khazanah-oversee-mas-revival/

Once privatised, no need to announce results :)
2014-07-22 08:02 | Report Abuse
These trading ideas are always about mas haha
2014-07-22 07:55 | Report Abuse
Privatisation allows to mas to move faster in turnaround, as a private entity , less requirements for announcements, compliance, etc etc. No need to wash the dirty stuff in the eyes of everybody globally :)
2014-07-22 07:52 | Report Abuse
Speakup, they are unlikely to do that. Announcing pn17, frighten away more passengers, no money=cut corner=safety uncertainty??? Dont think they do such thing, the whole world is focusing on mas, they would avoid further damage/bad publicity on mas , ;)
2014-07-22 07:27 | Report Abuse
Like JTI, OFFER PRICE WAS REVISED UPWARD even AFTER THE Announcement of privatisation :)
2014-07-22 06:56 | Report Abuse
Khazanah head said b4, privatisation is costly because a high offer price is expected :)
2014-07-22 06:32 | Report Abuse
With such low price concurrently, with the high volume transacted, some nominees might be started buying cheap now already. Once they announced it, may be, less than 10% shares still not in their hand. In order to satisfy long term minority shareholders, expecting the offer price for privatisation will not be less than 40sen, fingers crossed :)

http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/269447 Once privatisation has been announced, the share price will fly :)

PETRONAS bought misc shares to become the largest shareholder of misc last time... for mas, PETRONAS may also intervene, who knows? if they close down mas now while facing the attack from foreign missile attack, it is really very embarrassing, global headlines again haha
2014-07-21 10:34 | Report Abuse
the politicians always say be united facing the mh17 crisis, if they close down mas, it is really like slapping their own face... either privatisation or merger or takeover is on the way, just hold your breath... even proton, the bn federal govt is considering granting subsidies, etc right? :)

of course, nobody suggests to put all eggs into one basket :)
2014-07-18 16:20 | Report Abuse
firefly, mas eng, terminal services can be spinned off after privatisation/take over/merger whichever happens
2014-07-18 16:19 | Report Abuse
being delisted/privatised, less humiliation in the financial press, website, in Bloomberg, etc.... just remain low profile in the financial world till turnaround occurs like JAL
2014-07-18 16:16 | Report Abuse
investors are buying the shares hoping for privatisation, merger, take over. I don't see any other reasons :)
2014-07-18 16:15 | Report Abuse
actually, no need to consolidate the no of shares. par value is 10sen per share same as airasia....no point to keep mas as listed co now, more bad news, compliance, reporting, announcements, etc which could further tarnish its image/branding :)
2014-07-18 16:04 | Report Abuse
I think the offer price should be between 40sen and 60sen , otherwise, the long term minority shareholders wont agree :)

before 31 aug, it should be done....dateline to announce quarterly results... if private and delisted, then no need to announce as a non-listed private company :)
