Wait till the announcement of its quarterly results. It would rebound if the results are sustained or slightly affected because airasia is growing. Also, some airlines are using tune pro for their insurances for passengers. General insurance, etc will improve further with new CEO and chief actuary :)

Improvement in performance is expected later :)
It has already tied-up with AirAsia to bundle its travel insurance with the latter's fair packages under Value Pack, Premium Flex and Premium Flatbed in 2QFY17. On 1 June 2017, the group launched the bundling of its travel insurance with AirAsia's Premium Flex and Premium Flatbed packages. It plans to bundle its air travel insurance with AirAsia's Value Pack by the end of June 2017. Presently, the product bundling is only available for Malaysia and Thailand, the first and 2nd largest market respectively for travel insurance. By July and August 2017, this will be extended to all markets.
•The group will extend its dynamic pricing to more markets by 3QFY17. This will be increased from the present 5 markets comprising Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. As for now, the dynamic pricing involved lowering the premium for some routes with the objective of increasing the volume of travel insurance purchase. Moving ahead, it will take into account more variables based on customers' profile.

All these expansion by Airasia is good4tune whether profitable for Airasia or not.

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia is continuing its expansion in the region to become a truly Asean airline, group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said.

He said the expansion continued with the impending joint venture (JV) in Vietnam and interest expressed by the Cambodian government for AirAsia to venture into the country.

“So, the Asean story goes from strength to strength,” he said in a video message on the overview of the airline’s performance last year and outlook in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

AirAsia Bhd chief executive officer and executive director Aireen Omar said outside of Asean, the company’s newly set-up Japanese subsidiary was expected to start operations in the second half of this year.

She said in addition, the airline recently signed a memorandum of understanding for a JV to establish a low-cost carrier in China.

“To facilitate AirAsia’s growth, we have established a fleet delivery plan that runs up to 2028.

“This year, the group fleet size is expected to increase by 29 aircraft, which will bring it to 203 A320s by year-end,” she added.

Aireen said apart from the passenger service business, the airline would also focus on increasing ancillary income such as revenue from seat selections, inflight WiFi service, food and beverage, baggage fees, fly-thru flight transfer and duty free products.

“Ancillary income is a high margin business and fuels growth for the company. It is making more meaningful contribution to our earnings and provide an additional source of revenue to buffer against uncertainty,” she added.

She said that last year, ancillary income grew more than 10% to RM48 per passenger.

Meanwhile, to keep AirAsia running at low cost, Aireen said, the airline was centralising many processes to reduce redundancies and optimise cost.

“By centralising many of our functions across the group, we will be able to achieve economies of scale and reduce our unique cost further.

“Our focus is on being cost disciplined while we grow, and improve further, as we integrate all resources throughout the group and become truly one AirAsia,” she added. - Bernama

PETALING JAYA: Tune Protect Group Bhd is still actively pursuing an acquisition opportunity in Indonesia.
Indonesia is the third largest market contributor to its travel business and the biggest market in Asean with a large number of its more than 260 million population completely unprotected.
Group CEO Razman Hafidz Abu Zarim said it is talking to several parties on the exercise.
"It's a tough market to penetrate but we want to ensure we tie up with the right partner," he told a press conference after the group's AGM and announcing its digitisation initiative with AirAsia here today.

open up more new market for tune..

On the AirAsia's China venture, Fernandes said it represents the first stage of establishing an airline there and the group is unfazed by concern of local airlines may lobby against the idea.

"It is the first stage and we are very proud and excited about it, there are many stages, we been through that in India, there should be something by the end of this year. I can't talk for the other airlines, but all over the world, airlines have been lobbying against us, but we still did it," he said.

Earlier this month, AirAsia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Everbright Group and the Henan Government Working Group to jointly explore the planned establishment of a budget airline in China.

The MoU enabled AirAsia, Everbright and the Henan Government "to confirm their interest" in forming joint venture (JV) entity AirAsia (China). Henan is a province in central China.

The MoU parties planned to incorporate AirAsia (China) in Henan's capital city Zhengzhou, which is intended to be the headquarters of AirAsia (China).

“In the medium term, we are also concerned about AirAsia’s rapid expansion into Vietnam, China and Japan before even bedding down IAA, AAP and India,” it said.

Nonetheless, Maybank believes AirAsia’s 1Q17 profits (to be released after market close today) would not disappoint as the short-haul market remains strong.

“We estimate a core net profit of RM360mil, the lower year-on-year profit is expected as 2016 was an exceptional year.

“Valuations have turned attractive; AirAsia is the second cheapest low cost carrier globally. Buy with a target price of RM3.75, based on unchanged 10x 2017 PER,” Maybank said.

By Affin Hwang Capital
Buy (maintain)
Target price: RM1.57
TUNE Protect Group’s first quarter 2017 net profit of RM11.9mil came in at 16.1% and 13.4% of Affin Hwang Capital’s and consensus estimates.

While the research house said it expected a weaker first half for 2017, the results were nonetheless underwhelming due to the continued adverse effect from the “Opt in” regulatory changes to its travel segment, higher claims from the motor franchise business and lower investment income.
“These are, however, partially offset by a one-off release of Malaysian Motor Insurance Pool (MMIP) reserves of RM4.7mil,” it said.
The research house said Tune Protect’s travel segment continued to be adversely hit by the “Opt in” regulatory changes.
“However, we note that the decline in the number of policies issued has stabilised during the quarter while the company will start the travel insurance bundling for AirAsia’s selected customer segments such as the Premium Flex, Premium Flatbed, etc starting end-May.
“Moreover, we note that the customer pool for its partner airlines is still expanding at a healthy pace and this should eventually translate into better travel policy sales.”
For the general insurance segment, Affin Hwang said the company planned to manage its claim costs through better workshop arrangements.
Noteworthy is that Tune Protect has announced a collaboration with AirAsia for further data integration between the two companies, which would allow Tune Protect to leverage on AirAsia’s data and digital team to digitise its insurance operations and improve the customer experience.
“While we note that it is unlikely to materially impact the Tune Protect’s financials in the short term, we are nevertheless positive on the move which will further strengthen their working relationship and cross-selling capabilities,” said Affin Hwang.
“Despite forecasting a potentially better travel segment performance and lower claims from the general insurance segment, we are expecting Tune Protect’s net profit to bottom in the second quarter of 2017 in the absence of the release in actuarial reserves, before a sequential rebound in the coming quarters.”

An American-style lottery in Vietnam?
OCTOBER 11, 2016

VietNamNet Bridge – Will Vietnamese businesses have to share the multi-billion dollar lottery market with foreign investors?
In August, a student became the first winner of the Mega 6/45 Lotto Jackpot Game worth VND203 million. This changed the face of the lottery industry, estimated to be worth over $3 billion.
In August, a student became the first winner of the Mega 6/45 Lotto Jackpot Game worth VND203 million. This changed the face of the lottery industry, estimated to be worth over $3 billion.
Just after one month of launching, Vietlott (Vietnam Computerised Lottery One Member Company Ltd) reportedly earned VND40.1 billion. However, the figure did not surprise analysts, who believe that lotteries, casinos and sports betting have great potential in Vietnam.

Lotteries are expected to contribute VND26 trillion more to the state budget this year, a sharp increase of 48 percent compared with three years ago.

The initial achievements are so attractive that Vietlott decided to set up 800 points of sales in all districts and communes in HCM City in the first month and increase the number to 10,000 within the next five years.

Foreign investors have joined the lottery industry, which in the past was run by state-owned enterprises.

The foreign investor from Malaysia – Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) and Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd (BToto) – and Vietnamese Vietlott have been granted a license to operate computerized lotteries throughout Vietnam.

The business cooperation contract between BCorp and Vietlott comprises provisions on the investment in technology, equipment software and computerized lottery in Vietnam.

Foreign investors have joined the lottery industry, which in the past was run by state-owned enterprises.

After obtaining the investment license from the Hanoi Investment and Planning Department in early 2016, the exclusive lottery project was implemented by a subsidiary of BCorp – Berjaya Gia Thinh (Berjaya GTI).

Questions have been raised about the structure and the actual role of the businesses that get involved in the project, not only because of its high value, but also of the long-term duration of 18 years.

Berjaya GTI has a 51 percent stockholder equity belonging to BLV. Meanwhile, BLV is set up in Labuan with 80 percent stockholder equity belonging to BCorp and the other 20 percent to BToto.

Sources said that six months ago, in order to obtain the project, BCorp had to attend the auction where it had to compete with five other international lottery companies. The auction marked an important milestone in the history of Vietnam’s lottery industry as it opened the lottery market.

Vietlott, put under the management of the Ministry of Finance, was established in 2011 with VND500 billion in capital.

After five years of operation, it now has total assets of VND305 billion. Mega 6/45 lottery alone brought it VND49 billion in revenue in the first eight months of the year.

no worries... better results will come...

Vietlott and Berjaya are not shy about ambition to become a big name in the lottery market
Berjaya won the bid over five other international companies to become the first foreign investor to tap into Vietnam’s lottery market. Accordingly, Berjaya and Vietnam Lottery One-member Limited Liability Company (Vietlott), the only company in Vietnam allowed to sell computerised lottery, were awarded a $210.58-million contract to exclusively invest in and operate a computerised lottery project in Vietnam for 18 years. The deal was estimated to be worth $210.6 million.

The Vietnamese lottery market is worth about $3 billion. Although a newcomer, Vietlott aims to conquer 30 per cent of the market within a few years, which will bring in billions of dollars in revenue.
