KUALA LUMPUR: A survey by the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) showed that 15% of respondents estimated a 25% to 30% increase in transportation cost as a result of the proposed increase in toll rates by concessionaires in the Klang valley.

FMM said the increase would be from hike in transportation charges by logistics service providers, increase in price of raw materials and increase in travelling claims of their marketing staff who use the highways on daily basis.

"The hike in toll rates would result in an increase in the prices of goods and raw materials, and subsequently increase the operating cost of manufacturers.

"This increase in operating cost would eventually be passed down to consumers," it said in a statement today.

FMM said given the recent increase in electricity rates, the proposed toll hikes would definitely put pressure on inflation, dampen domestic consumption and affect export competitiveness.

According to the survey, all respondents, out of which 68% comprised small and medium entreprises (SMEs) operating in the Klang Valley, were certain that the hike in toll rates would have an impact on the cost of doing business.

It said 18% of the respondents estimated that the toll hike would increase transportation cost by 11% to 20%, while 46% projected a rise of between 2% and 10%.

Some 40% of the respondents indicated that they use all the highways including Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK), Sungai Besi Expressway (Besraya) and SPRINT Highways, while 64% said they or their transporters do not have alternative routes to deliver goods to points of destination – Bernama.

Based on FY13, highway revenue was RM76M and O&G was RM306M. Profit was RM4.4M after tax.

If based on O&G pre tax profit was RM41M and overal pre tax profit was RM26.4M.

If toll hike 25% and awarded petronas contract.

Maybe toll income will breakeven and O&G will generate more than RM50M pre tax profit.

Let assume FY14 profit after tax is RM35M. Hence EPS 7cents with 486.1M share outstanding. If apply PE 15, the share should be traded at RM1.

The trend seems like same as Benelac when first drop to 0.86 then the next few days shot to 1.07 for shark to dispose the share. Now the price drop to 0.85 again and keep on dropping like no bottom. Beware guys. If want to average better wait for 2nd well result.

I don't think it will rebound. But it is in uptrend mode. From the investor perspective, i will buy more and hold for few years coz the profit margin is 20%. But the directors action shows that they are needing money to get more business or really their is another substantial share holder which is Bumiputra coz this company really need bumiputra share holder if want to transfer to mainboard.
