KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia--Inflation in Southeast Asia's third-largest economy likely softened in June, due in part to unchanged retail fuel prices and a higher base last year. The consumer-price index, Malaysia's main inflation gauge, likely rose 1.8% in June from a year earlier, according to the median forecast of seven economists polled by The Wall Street Journal. Inflation in May climbed 2.0% from a year earlier. Malaysia, which has been grappling with softer prices for its oil and gas exports since 2014, is also facing softer domestic demand. On Wednesday, the country's central bank unexpectedly cut interest rates for the first time in seven years, in a bid to maintain economic stability amid global uncertainties. Property sales improved in 2QFY16. After typically slow 1QFY16, property new sales increased to RM222m in 2QFY16, taking 1HFY16 sales to RM305m (+3% y-o-y). This is quite a commendable performance in view of the soft market sentiment. Unbilled sales remains healthy at RM828m which will underpin earnings visibility over the next two years.

Upon completion of the acquisition, MKH to recognise a bargain gain of about RM2.5 million.
