Major product ramps from cellphone customers helped chip developer Avago Technologies (AVGO) exceed fiscal Q4 earnings expectations, sending its stock to a new high.

Avago stock was up 5.5%, near 47, in afternoon trading in the stock market today. Earlier, the stock touched 47.43, exceeding its previous high of 47.21 touched on Oct. 21. Avago stock is up nearly 50% in 2013.

Avago develops and sells a broad range of analog chips in three primary markets: wireless communications, wired infrastructure and industrial. Its customers include Apple (AAPL), Samsung and HTC.

The company, based in Singapore with U.S. headquarters in San Jose, Calif., late Wednesday reported revenue of $738 million, up 19% from the year-earlier quarter, for the quarter ended Nov. 3. That beat analyst estimates of $732 million.

Earnings per share ex items of 89 cents, up 16%, beat estimates of 82 cents.

The midpoint of its revenue guidance for the current quarter, $705 million, is above estimates of $703 million.

"We expect strong demand from our two major smartphone customers to sustain and be only partially offset by the seasonal weakness at other (customers)," Avago CEO Hock Tam said in a conference call with analysts Wednesday.

Due to weakness from its other wireless customers, though, Avago expects overall wireless revenue, which accounted for 47% of total revenue last quarter, to be flat or "perhaps maybe even slightly down" this quarter, said Tam.

Michael Walkley, an analyst with Canaccord Genuity, reiterated a buy rating on the stock, with a price target of 54.

"We believe Avago's proprietary technologies, strong intellectual property portfolio and diverse customer base in several growth markets position the company for strong long-term growth trends with industry-leading margins,"

Chiam, no la, just once a while looks at the share price.... Sometime so lucky to collect at cheapest price.... Of course some anylisis still need to carry out based on previous trading trend and pattern.... everybody also want to collect at cheapest price mah... This share even sometime can drop but usually will falls within the threshold and sure wouldn't be falls too much one... Usually will rebound last minutes...

Insas share price was control by major share holder and its cronies....no one can predict when will be the share price up/down... When the peoples think some good news come out sure will boost up the price but who know the price is going down???

How come this stock volume very less?

No activities on the acquire/dispose by directors since 18-Nov although the WA hit high at 1.19 last week which indicate that the processing of the moving to main board is in progressing now for one month period...most probably moving to main board will be someway around 20-Dec...
