The decision to sell LV flagship casino was made by Sheldon Adelson when he was still around. Unless he has Alzheimer's Deisease before he passed away, I wouldn't question his business acumen.

Both MBS and GENS are considered IRs since the inception of intergrated casino concept in 2006. The Singapore Government, newspapers and citizens have been referring to the 2 IRs since then (maybe the word casino was a sensitive word in Singapore when LKY was around?) GENS' main attraction is theme park while MBS is MICE (Meetings Conferences Exhibitions). Sheldon Adelson was an old hand in MICE industry (COMDEX trade shows which he sold to Softbank, then started LVS casino cum trade shows/conventions later on).

LVS (global number 1 gaming company) selling their namesake flagship LV casino resort could also mean that there are greener pastures at other places, and other reasons strong enough to exit LV and redeploy their capital somewhere else to make more money. Every businessmen have their own views on which region is sunset, where region are the greener pastures. I won't question the business acumen of Adelson Sheldon since he was self-made started from nothing, entered casino business in late 1980s and became the global number one in gaming industry in just over 20 years.

Despite my long term bullish view, chartwise short term is negative. Immediate trend is down. Reversal spotted on Wednesday afternoon (massive volume, highest daily volume for 2021). I warned jasonred79 to be cautious that day hope he took my advice. Thursday's weak price action for gent on a KLCI strong green day was confirmation of Gent's change in immediate trend. Some people says where got stock operator? Where got run road? If no stock operator how this stock can goreng from rm3.8x to rm4.8x over past few weeks (while KLCI still drifting down) n many states under mco, still no interstate travel news? That RWG news on Wednesday was a repeated general info. Probably planted by stock operator for final massive distribution. Prior to Wednesday, it was already expected that RWG's new theme park can open at late Q2. So that theme park news was nothing new or fantastic. Gens n GentP good results were already expected. Nothing very bullish abt to warrant such a rally except its most likely a pump n dump scheme by a cunning stock operator.

Asian casinos more lucrative than USA casinos. It is generally agreed by many analysts that japan casinos is going to be lucrative. No need to travel to all the casinos personally to see for yourself.

LVS trying to sell their LV casino probably because it is underperforming compared to their other asian casinos in Singapore, macau, etc.

Im not too bullish on USA casinos. But Im bullish on yokohama casino. I think Gens has 90% chance of securing yokohama casino.

Frankly im wary of the Asian theme (great wall of china, etc) that genting is using for RWLV. Trump era has made anti-chinese sentiments to a high level amongst the general USA population. Hope RWLV asian theme will still be popular among the general USA population after what Trump has done.

Riaz1954 People keep comparing with Singapore ...Singapore is a tiny state ...Selangors population alone is larger than Sings..same with NZ! There are countries in the world where one city alone has 10 times the population of Singapore!

This is for comparison on the estimated time 70% of malaysia population protected by vaccine (14 days after 2nd dose). So far singapore has none yet despite receiving vaccines much earlier than us. Hence, i dont believe we can reach 70% fully vaccined population by end of this year. I think govt need to change this yardstick for interstate travel.

I honestly think it cannot be done by end of this year. Singapore maybe can because small city state and started vaccination rollout 2 months earlier than us.

My thoughts about angtaykor, he bought below 3 and sold above 4.90.....4.60 not low enough for him, I can understand as I also feel not low enough to collect. If he is telling the truth. Haha ha....

Thats a problem for supermarket sale offer. Eh... last time I bought below rm3, now rm4 not cheap enough........ hehehe... tasted the best fruit before and keep expecting similar deals... not scared supermarket go bankrupt and close shop!

LKT pledged his entire GHK shares. Kena margin call, so start pledging Genting Bhd shares progressively when share price keep dropping. I read articles that he already pledged about half of his Gent shares to lenders. In worse case scenario, Gent can execute share buybacks.

Unlike shxtinvestor88 creating panic over this issue, I have been stressing that shareholders do not need to worry abt LKT issue since he still has another half to pledge and these are his personal problems. Separate entities in GHK and LKT with Gent. In fact LKT issue can also be viewed as positive for shareholders in the form of continuity in rich dividends over the foreseeable future.

Genting doing share buybacks will only happen if LKT has pledged his shares to the maximum level and still kena margin call from his lenders. Then bopian liow ask company do share buybacks to support share price. Could this scenario be happening at glove companies?

Red leh....bears are winning now... Exdiv price may drop much more than 8.5 sen. This morning 4.70 still can sell. Later take the 8.5 sen dividend but if price drop to 4.25 after exdiv not worth it liow.

Can forget abt interstate travel this month n next month. Govt will be very cautious on this. 7th dec interstate travel was a very bad mistake.

Gent cash reserve dropped by over rm4B to rm26B. At the same time, long term debt increased by rm5B to rm34B. This is over a 12 month period.

So at group level, they have rm26B cash but at the same time borrowings of rm34B.

@keyman188, no doubt LKT was the highest tax payer individually in malaysia but LKT is definitely in personal financial distress now else he would not have pledged his entire GHK shares us half of his gent shares as collateral.

Maybe GHK kena goreng up by LKT to do a major share placement at higher price to new china investor? After pandemic, i think it is reasonable for cruise biz to go back to 2/3 of previous capacity within 2 years.

LKT needs cash to settle his personal $ problems. May draw from past earnings reserve n declare some dividend. But i expect lower dividend this yr.
