Your friend is right, HIBI is hugely transparent and with robust fundamentals. The other counters are easily goreng and since this sector is the flavor of the month, all the goreng kings are there.

Late buyers mainly IDSS or their brokers covering their shorts. Definitely retailers betting because of low Brent opening. Surprise is the absorption/ accumulation. Hoping for a pleasant surprise if Brent continues climbing cos I’m in on some swing trades just for a lil excitement!

Huge percentage of retailers entering those speculative counters will emerge without their pants and underwear enriching all the big sharks. One of those sharks tried his luck with WC but realised he had to move the mother share to make money. Hibis huge capitalization and public float plus the list of big institutional funds invested in it prevent severe market manipulation by these sharks who are market movers for those speculative counters.Short term trading is a zero sum game and as many winners there are, there will be losers. The sharks and market movers win all the time and turn most of the ikan bilis into sambal. Some smart ikan bilis will get rich but that's the game!

Regulated Short Selling

IDSS has enabled the suppression to be more efficient/amplified. Before IDSS, I noticed and followed the play with just RSS with AA warrants. Made some money there short to medium term trading.

Don't forget the issue/ask price is 0.15 per warrannt and the exercise ratio is 2.5:1, so a breakeven for the IB is 1.355 share price( cos 2.5 warrants=0.375 added to exercise price of 0.98). But I'm not sure if they got the asking price they wanted but looking at the trading volume at issue date, I would put a conservative price of 0.10 per warrant so for the IB to breakeven HIBI share price should not exceed 1.25. I stand to be corrected.

I think IBs slowly running out of steam. They don't have to bring down the price to below exercise price cos already made money selling the warrants, After today only one bank left in the fight and might not be cost effective to try and suppress anymore. Let's watch..............................................

Today expiry for CJ Exercise Price-1.00. CL expires 1st Mar, E.P.-0.98. CK expires 18Mar, E.P.-1.20. Possible run up day after tomorrow. Today massive selling at 1.01 but massive absorption as well. Reckonn IDSS will suffer today.

Reckon they might release their stranglehold a little with the lower oil price and allow it to trade to about 1.10-1.20 (they still make money) and promote CK at E.P. of 1.20 which expires on the 18/3.

Actually this is a swing traders paradise. Robust company and uptrending counter and if you smart enough to take advantage of the volatility. Contra players can get slaughtered.

Looking at the IDSS play the last two days, it was no ordinary retail play but by entities with resources. Evidence of both suppression and accumulation could be seen.
Suppression by the IBs whose call warrants soon to expire. What surprised me was the why so early? Going by the Issue price, exercise price and exercise ratio, the VWAP of Hibi 5 days preceding the maturity date would have to be above 1.375 for them to lose money.
Do the IBs see Hibi taking off soon uncontrollably and costing them a lot of money?
And was the accumulation by those in the know of the latest QR?

I assume your broker will know what to do as per contract. Theyd probably buy the shares for you and force sell your other shares in your account to pay for it if theres no response from you by a stipulated time. Just guessing. Any brokers here?

Here's something every short selling traders have to take note, try to close the short position by 4:45PM. Reason is because the market will enter into matching time(Pre-closing), if you have not close the position before 4:45 PM, you might not able to buy back your short selling shares by 4:59PM, because after 4:50 PM to 4:59PM is trading at last, all stocks are to be traded at last price.

What If You Failed To Closed The Short Position Within the Day?
If fail to closed the position, you will have to borrow shares from the license shares lender approved by Bursa Malaysia (or transfer from your other CDS account to cover the short position or from your IMMEDIATE family members CDS account only), such borrowings incur charges and interest. Charges (transfer charges of RM 10.60 is fixed charges by Bursa Malaysia) and interest vary from brokers and the agreed price to borrow the said shares are subject to agreed price too, therefore traders have to take note on the charges and make sure it doesn’t affect your profitability. Confirmation of borrowing must be done on 5pm and by 6pm.
However, the borrowing shares are subjected to availability. If your existing broker do not have enough of shares to lend to you, they are required to request from other brokers, but still subject to availability.

Borrowing shares doesn’t mean that you can continue to keep your short selling position open forever. According to regulation, traders who borrow shares from licensed lender must return the shares back to lender latest on T6 and borrower have to buy back the shares within T6, take note : interest will be charged daily within T6.

This is the reason why you need to sign SBL agreement mentioned above.

Most online brokerage apps will show IDSS volume and value - presently indicates volume of 83423 lots valued at RM 8954099 -average price- 1.073.

Brent daily technical chart indicates inverse head and shoulders. Possible major breakout upwards. I figure US rig count tomorrow could be the trigger. A lot of reasons for oil bulls to run! Let's hope Hibis uptrend continues.

IDSS panic buying to narrow losses. Now day traders taking profit. If 1.05 falls soon, 1.10 not impossible today.
