So Nestle is a strong buy at any price ... today drop RM13, tomorrow jump RM130 !!! Bitcoin also tak boleh lawan.

Do not know whether China man can upgrade Euro 3 to Euro 4 or not ?
Please do not underestimate China man now. Please note that China is using Euro 5, not Euro 4 lah.

Shandong Hengyuan is 5th largest crude oil importer in China. Hengyuan is using Euro 5 in China.
Please do not continue to talk bad about Hengyuan because it is China man's stock.

Do you know China is the richest country in this planet. Has highest foreign reserve in this world.

I hope China investment funds do not disappoint the share price of Hengyuan in 2018.

This boy has been posting a lot of sarcastic comments on this forum. Unfortunately he forgot to take a good look at himself before he takes a swipe at others.

Sometime ago, he was busy asking people how a business derives its value. He wrote an article titled "Karex - Where Value Comes From". When this article was posted on 19/06/2017, Karex was at RM1.78. As I'm typing this, Karex is at RM1.15, or a 35% drop in share price. Yeah, so much for theories and "value".

The conclusion of said article is particularly hilarious. He wrote "There are no doubt that Karex’s OEM market will continue to generate a steady stream of cash flow for the business but a majority of those are going to flow into assets and expenditure to grow their brands. You’ll have to have a good understanding how these spending (acquisition, capex and opex) are going to help Karex establish their brands, and how much would cash flow would they generate in order to value Karex. At 48x P/E, the market is putting high hopes for Karex to deliver it. If that is a success, the current price will be a steal. But it also carry a huge risk if things turn south. It is going to be very difficult trying to access where they will be in 10 years time because there are too many moving parts."

@hoolahoo. Thanks for the info.

Apart from the plunging oil price, another point that I wish to add is, one of the important reasons Shell chose to sell its PD refinery was they were in urgent need of a lot of cash for the merger with BG Group. Apart from Msia, they had also sold their refineries in Australia & Italy, as well as some of their retail outlets in Britain. They also sold their marketing ops in Denmark & Norway to raise cash.

Even if these 2 companies are not superb from FA viewpoint, they definitely don't qualify as speculative counters. As such, making a sweeping statement that OTB is one of the best speculators on the KLSE is not only inaccurate, it shows a personality that is reckless, arrogant, and most of all, ignorant.

There's just one word to describe this article - rubbish.

Tai KT I thought they will borrow 1.4b, now is 1.7b. that why price drop

There's a big difference between "refinancing" and acquiring new loans.

Only around RM400-RM500 mil out of RM1.7 billion are new loans. That's why the stock price of HY is not collapsing. Normally people only accept "refinancing" when the terms offered by banks such as interest rate, collateral/debenture arrangement, repayment tenure, etc are to their advantage. HY is actually getting more attractive terms out of yesterday's loan package.

Hi Halite. See how you've contradicted yourself from the 2 statements below:

"Do not forget market is always FORWARD LOOKING"

"WHICH SIFU TEACHES YOU THAT TODAY DROP 20 CENTS TOMORROW CAN NOT SHOOT UP TM2.00"

OK. Let me spare you the agony of having to respond to this comment.

In the short term, the market is erratic. If it falls 20 sen today, it is just as likely to drop another RM2 tomorrow as it is likely to shoot up RM2 (stmt 2). In the long-term, market reflects fundamentals (stmt 1).

Until Petronm is able to show tangible positive results from its expansion, what do you think is the likehood for your statement "TODAY DROP 20 CENTS TOMORROW CAN NOT SHOOT UP TM2.00" to become a reality in the meantime? It is not likely even after Petronm announced its 4Q17 results.

Do you know how much stress investing in Petronm has caused you? Do you know how clouded your mind is now?

If you're not blind, you would be able to see that I'm exercising great restraint in my response to you, despite your nasty & provocative remarks like "Are you new to the market ?", "Do you not find you response very naive ?".

A word of advice for you. Don't push it. When it comes to nastiness and sarcasm, you're way out of my league ! If you must reply after this, try to be nice.

Hi Halite. I only see one point worth responding to regarding your post.

To quote what you wrote, "Do not forget market is always FORWARD LOOKING". Based on Petronm recent share price performance, can we thus deduce that the market doesn't quite like what it sees about the future of Petronm?

Stock

2018-01-23 10:56 | Report Abuse

Petronm share price is likely to be weighed down by its gigantic RM14B investment for expansion over the medium term. There's likely to be limited to no upside to its share price until the expansion is completed and works out as planned. If the share price performance of Petronm today and yesterday is anything to go by, we are already seeing early signs of uncertainty over its expansion being built into its share price. Meanwhile, Petronm share price would be very susceptible to any adverse news associated with its expansion.

Dividend payments are also likely to be suspended or reduced due to the massive need for cash to finance its expansion.

Also, if there's going to be a major or full shutdown of its refinery plant in connection with the expansion, question remains on where it's going to get fuel and diesel to keep its petrol stations running. The cost factor (esp shipment/import and storage) is a critical consideration here.

Those who are undecided whether or not to continue staying invested in Petronm or those mulling to invest in Petronm should take the above factors into consideration.

That said, people who are in for the long haul and have faith in the Management's business foresight and execution track record may choose to disregard these factors.

Please bear in mind that I am NOT saying expansion is dangerous or no good. In fact, it is one of the ways to grow a business. I am merely presenting some uncertain factors related to any expansion for consideration. It is not my wish to see any investor losing money.

2) You should re-read my post before going ballistic, but perhaps your reading disability is preventing you from understanding what I wrote.

Why don't you sell your Petronm shares and buy HY? Actually deep down inside you actually feel very insecure having bought Petronm. Did you know that the Chinese actually found a better bargain when they bought over SRC than Petron buying over what was formerly known as Esso?

If this was true, how come you're not warning investors in Petronm forum? In fact, I think you have even stronger reasons to go to Petronm forum as Petron is going to commit RM14 billion of capex at a time when refining margins are collapsing. Furthermore, Petronm is a simple refiner which doesn't have the capability to switch its end products to those producing higher margins, unlike HY.

In the first 3 quarters of FY2017, HY's EPS is already RM2.42. Without even accounting for its 4Q results, its PE is just a mere 5.87. So Nanyang's PE 13 is obviously wrong. HY is still very cheap going by PE metric.

It looks like the people on this forum are more deluded and hallucinatory than HY forumers. Don't kid yourself. The RM14B investment would definitely weigh on Petronm share price for a few years. Be prepared to ride out the price stagnation (if you're really lucky to have just price stagnation) for a few years (consider your opportunity cost).

To the person who said HY forum is more like a gambling den, aren't you equally blinded by self-denial on the massive capex that Petronm is going to incur? Yes, growth MAY come, but not immediately. It MAY come after several years. In the mean time, don't kid yourself by thinking there won't be any effect on Petronm share price. Such a massive capex will be accompanied by PLENTY of uncertainties. If you think HY is a gamble, Petronm is an even more dangerous gamble.

You should serisouly ponder, between Petronm and HY, which is more risky now?

"Hengyuan's parent company in China has been in existence for close to half a decade."

Sorry for my mistake. It's actually "half a century", and not "decade" as mentioned in my earlier post.

Stock

I refer to Felicity's articles posted on 29/12/2017, the day when Hengyuan's share price fell 9.24%. She started by "reminding" readers "not to be misled". She then confidently concluded that "Hengyuan is no Nestle, Dutch Lady, BAT. Not even Oldtown. It is not even Top Glove or Hartalega or Airasia. Hengyuan is Not near".

First, Hengyuan supplies most of its petroleum products to Shell. In the same way, how many consumers do you think will ask "eh, who's the major supplier that supplies the parts in this DYSON vacuum cleaner that we're using?" Or, "hey, which is the semiconductor company that supplies the parts on this iphone that we're using?" I guarantee less than 10% of consumers worldwide would bother to ask such questions. Yet, an investor who had the foresight to invest in SKP Resources (major supplier for DYSON) back in 2012/2013 would have made multi-fold returns on their investment. My point is, it's not necessarily companies with strong brands that will make you money in the stock market. In this respect, Felicity's "brand" talk is just shallow and superficial to be taken seriously. How many people knew SKP Resources compared to DYSON? How many people knew Foxconn compared to Apple?

Second, the present Mgmt officially took over the business on 22/12/2016. In just 1 year,. what kind of "miracle" do you expect them to produce? Did Nestle, D Lady & AirAsia become the successful companies and "safe" investments that they are today in just 1 year? No! It took them years, if not decades. So, why be so harsh on the new Mgmt of Hengyuan? On the high debt, please remember that the new Mgmt did not amass this debt. They INHERITED it from the previous mgmt. C'mon, do you expect them to pay down this debt in just 1 year?? To divert a little, did Geely turn Volvo into a disaster after acquiring the latter? Have you heard about how the new Proton CEO dealt with the low quality of kangkung served in Proton's cafe? Do you think these Chinese would spend hundreds of millions, even billions and let their business ventures fail?

Hengyuan's parent company in China has been in existence for close to half a decade. They are now producing Euro-6 compliant products. In terms of technological know-how and experience in running the business, they are definitely not any inferior compared to their Western counterparts. In fact, the contrary is true. If not, Hengyuan won't be buying over Shell's refinery. It would be the other way around. And don't undermine the importance of technological know-how. Look at how Shale technology disrupted the whole O&G industry.

On dividends, many argue that Petron is a safer investment because it pays dividends. Really? How sustainable is their dividend payment? Petron is gonna spend RM1.5 bil on its refinery in Msia. Hengyuan is spending half of that amount in Msia. In the case of Hengyuan, it's only a matter of time before they start paying dividend.
