Very good argument, KWTan. It appears that there is more to the eyes. On the other hand, Indiaman above also makes alot of sense to the theory that not all is that straight forward. (The RM2 sale already benefited the seller as the price then was justified to be worth so much. This sale is also consistent with the trend that TF and partner/s have been consistently selling down from day 1.)

But, theoretically,, if a company is sh*t, does it matter if it is historical low? Any company conking out will necessarily hit historical lows.

If I understood correctly, if oil price goes beyond USD 40-50, then shale oil people will start to come in and produce more. And, there is plenty of shale oil in North America - way more than Saudi oil reserve. (The production cost has been coming down to about USD40-50 per barrel.) So, oil price will be stuck below USD 45 (let's say) for a long long time... enough time for alternate energy source/technology to come in (cheap enough for practical usages). Thus, oil price is going to hover around USD 30-40 (as traditional OPEC members try to thwart shale oil production) for a long time. The old paradigm is gone, man.

Tomoro last day to exercise wct_WC....

In the next few days, oil price will be dropping again and this counter will come to .15 again.

If after last trading day, but before expiry date, wct goes above 1.54 but less than 1.60, then no point to convert. It is artificial and will drop back to 1.54 or even below after conversion. If one is really so hung on wct, then wait till it drops even further after conversion date.

Ok, this does not apply to those with inside info.

Now, it's all-or-nothing. Like the Mexicans say: this where only those with iron for eggs come in.

Actually what we have here 0n the situation of wc is very interesting and makes for a good research topic (maybe for someone working on a thesis).

What if everybody has the same idea and after converting you can't sell (or mother falls below 1.63 after the expiry date)? We are assuming that Leon is not planning to park long-term.
2016-02-05 18:09 | Report Abuse
If the mother does not go up significantly, then, no point converting wc - as a few sen up or down in this market is common (for the mother) and one can simply continue to punt (assuming that one is a punter) on the mother. So losing a few sen on the wc thru expiry is most likely the scenario (same sentiment as Power96 (ref.11:49).

Last chance to get on the gravy train.

For punters (not intending to convert wc), true, dangerous... But,do you not think that WCT is rather "cheap" at 1.80 or even 2.00? For investors (don't mind keeping wct for 2 or 3 years it is a great bet (considering all its' assets and contracts, potential reits and compensation)to make a high probable 25% to 80%. It is hard to find any investments for this kind of returns.

They always have a choice or choices. Why would they want to throw good money away? At worst, they will convert.

I can't find any new report on their shareholding... can you share when the latest report is on their shareholding?

We don't know whether they are still holding since the news is old.... especially, it did go even higher at some point.

Hi Calvintaneng, why the price targets by Maybank are so low and also no other analysts seem to be interested to give PT? Are you missing anything, like debts, no cashflow or dividends? Your assessment and recommendation seem too good to be true... I am tempted. What gives?

There are so many possibilities here that every rationale is as good as the others. Ultimately it is beyond our control how it will turn out as we are just kecik meow shareholders and at the mercy of major shldr/s.

I think EPF has been selling because it needs (to get cash) to pay out dividend to contributors soon...1st Quarter...CNY?

Another one bites the dust. Maybe this is time to also dump wd and we and not waste time.
2016-01-21 15:05 | Report Abuse
So far, all warrants by WCT in the last few years were not worth the paper used for the prospectus. All gone down the tube. Minority shareholders were just being exploited, used and dumped.
2016-01-21 15:02 | Report Abuse
Hi BullRunComing, I believe what power96 meant is that for each wc warrant that is converted to mother share, wct bhd will receive RM1.54; so, if 100mil wc's were to be converted, then WCT will receive RM154mil.
Stock: [WCT]: WCT HOLDINGS BERHAD
