Sapura Energy’s tender rig division is still in the red, due to suboptimal rig utilisation (only 5 out of 15 rigs contracted).

The energy division is still profitable, given its low cost of oil production and stabilisation of oil prices. The group’s currently-producing oilfields would continue to experience natural production decline and it would be offset by rising gas production (towards the end of 4QFY19).

“Therefore, we opine that the division’s core profit would only range from RM30 million to RM50 million in the next few years,” Chia said. Its tender rig outlook remains bleak and similar losses are expected to be witnessed in FY19 for the group, due to lack of expected demand in the ASEAN region.

USA rose again in the past couple of months to be the 2nd largest oil producer in the world after allowing shale oil production. And shale oils are NOT governed under OPEC. So the more oil cuts are made by OPEC, the more shale oil producers are happy to boost their production and take more market share. I don't see a proper recovery in oil industry unless shale oil producers are controlled and properly governed.

I read only very negative news about Sapura. Some hot points: (1) Sapura Energy only has contracts worth RM1.5bil for FY19F but official forecast is to have revenue of RM4bil; (2) next six to nine months will be challenging for E&C division and Sapura is cautiously optimistic for beginning of 2HFY19F; (3) For FY19F, utilisation is expected to remain flat at 35% unless they have big contract wins.

Nope TanSri did not get enough shares to bring Johan private, so that is good. Just wait and see next move. He may either offer again a higher offer, or he will just continue to build Johan into a mega player in construction. He will likely win construction rights to prime land around LRT3 and certain MRT lines. Also perhaps around HSR.

You can see Tan Sri and Puan Sri desperately buying, even small small lots they buy. This is the desperation to gain over 90% shares so that they can force small shareholders like us to sell to them. I think they are at around 76% now. All of us should stop selling. The deadline of their offer will expire and they will definitely come up with better offer.

TanSri is very smart. He will get 3rd parties to drive shares down a little bit to pressure us. Smart investors will hold on. Johan is Tan Sri's pride, he sat in his lucky office in Johan for 20 years, and from there he controls Gkent and Johan. Gkent alone will make him a billionaire soon. Gkent factory and Johan tiles factory are just one stone throw away. If you combine them, then it is a very big project. They are buddies with Prasarana and so shuttle bus will ply from LRT station to Johan/Gkent new development area 4.5km away.

For its second quarter ended June 30, 2017, it recorded a net loss of RM4.83mil on the back of RM9.1mil in revenue. For the six month period, it recorded RM9.35mil in net losses on the back of RM15.74mil in revenue.

There will be two things to boost Johan: -- (I) first is Gkent which have big chance to win HSR; (ii) second is Johan already going into property development on one part of the land, and will later shut down the tiles manufacturing and the entire land will build additional hotel and shopping mall.
