The price of oil inched up to its highest level in more than two years amid Saudi Arabia’s corruption shake-up and tightening markets.

Brent crude futures, the international benchmark, began trading at US$62.41, up slightly by 0.5 per cent from the Friday close, while North America’s West Texas Intermediate (WTI) opened at $55.97.

Yes...it is all about oil price....Sumatec dropped because of the global oil price drop. It went from $120 to below $40 and now back to $60... So if the oil price resume uptrend ...Sumatec can recover. Yes...agree. Sumatec drop and keep dropping. Why? Because the oil price kept dropping and dropping. So now that is is recovering...we have some confidence investing at 5 sen. How low can it get? Unless close shop and bye2. It is a gamble. Even a broken ship should have some worth when you sell the scrap metal. Cannot be zero value right? I hate Sumatec too when it dropped from its highs to 5 sen now. But we all know the oil price dropped. So we cannot blame anyone and suspect hanky panky and so on. We have to accept the pain of the people there. I am sure the management there are trying their best to turn around this company. If not why are they trying to put up so many proposals to get funds in? Money is the blood of the business they say. No money means no blood. A sick person need blood transfusion to keep alive. A sick business need money to keep it going. So whats wrong? Yes, you lost confidence. But why are you still here?? Can invest elsewhere bcos there are so many better counters. I bet you are still here because you still think Sumatec still got hope of a recovery or you are stuck with huge paper losses?

Having said that I can be wrong too...sorry. I mean I cannot guarantee Sumatec will recover. I can only say I try to buy at 5 sen support. If it drop below 5 sen, I am out. I got my cut loss point too.

Of course there are other proposals including rights issues and debt settlement thru RCPS etc. We will have to wait and see how those affect the current market price. For all you know they have to pump it up before the rights because many are buying to get the free bonus stocks and rights stocks like warrants-C. You never know....it might rally like XOX before rights issue. Now is rock bottom....at 5 sen...let see...even if it drop...how much can it drop???

Semua takut? OK below explanation helps to clarify those who are worrying about stock price after consolidation of the stocks.

1. Capital reduction does not result in adjustment in stock price. It is only an accounting job to
set off the losses by reducing the share capital without cancelling any stock. So the number
of stock you held in your hands remains the same. Only adjustment made to the accounting
books.

2. After capital reduction, they will merge 4 existing stock into 1 stock thus mopping up the
liquidity of the stocks volume in the market. If your stock is 5 sen...it will turned into 20 sen.
But if you have 1000 lots, you now have 250 lots.

Get it??? Don't worry be happy. I think Sumatec will go up with the rise in Oil price and will not
be affected by all these proposal. Anyway the proposal are good to enhance Sumatec image
to provide more funds coming in and to repay debts. Nothing to be frightened about. If the oil price rise above 70 or 100 Sumatec stock price will rise in tandem. So?? Still scared to buy?

We are all in the boat...look how Hisbiscs rise from 19 sen to now 72 sen? Oil is recovering. But having said that....please invest with the money you have. Don't go and borrow from loan sharks and cry later if the stock price drop. Be responsible with your own actions. Don't go round scolding people when things go wrong. We are here to share knowledge....not we are not SKL as mentioned.


Balance Sheet Reconstruction Exercise

Based on the audited financial statements for the financial year ended (“FYE”) 31 December
2016, the Sumatec group has accumulated losses of RM226.1 million against a share capital of
RM541.3 million. Sumatec proposes to set-off its accumulated losses through the reduction of
the share capital (“Proposed Capital Reduction”).
The Proposed Capital Reduction will not result in any adjustment to the share price of the
Company or the number of Sumatec Shares held by Sumatec’s shareholders. The reduction of
the share capital will result in an equal and proportionate reduction of the share capital
attributable to each share, without affecting the cancellation of any shares.
Upon completion of the Proposed Capital Reduction, Sumatec proposes to consolidate every
four (4) existing Shares into one (1) Share (“Proposed Share Consolidation”). Based on the
number of Shares in issue as at 25 October 2017 (“LPD”), being the latest practicable date for
purposes of this announcement, of 4,058,504,400, the Proposed Share Consolidation will
consolidate the number of issued Shares to 1,014,626,100.
The Proposed Share Consolidation will result in an adjustment to the share price. Based on the
closing price as at the LPD of RM0.05 per Share, the Proposed Share Consolidation will result in
the price being adjusted to RM0.20.

I think Sumatec really depend on 1 person....Halim Saad. If he wants to push...then it will go up. Last time also ...goreng highest until 82 sen. He is the major stock holder....the reason why Sumatec went down also because Halim Saad sell it down. He buy and sell....so its all now waiting if he wants to buy back...or continue selling. Oil is recovering....and prices are going up....So I don't think Halim Saad will want to see Sumatec go down. He need to buy back the stock he sold...and now is a good time to buy. Not sell. If he continues to sell...then Sumatec will close shop.
